

A limited-edition Lay’s chip from the first Do Us a Flavor contest, built on the brand’s thin, salted potato chip base and dusted with a chicken-and-waffle seasoning blend. The flavor is trying to do two things at once: savory fried chicken notes with herbed breading, plus a maple-syrup waffle sweetness that shows up on the finish. Unlike standard Lay’s flavors, this one leans into a sweet-savory profile instead of a straight salt-and-spice mix. It was one of three finalists in the 2013 contest and lost to Cheesy Garlic Bread, but it’s remembered for how distinctly it reads as brunch in chip form.
