Skinny Cow builds its range around sweeteners rather than sugar, and this sundae is the clearest example of it. Sorbitol and polydextrose sit near the top of the ingredient list where sugar would normally be, with sweeteners 965, 950 and 955 handling the rest. Those are maltitol, acesulphame K and sucralose. Sugar alcohols like sorbitol bring bulk as well as sweetness, which matters in anything frozen, because sugar is doing structural work as well as making things taste sweet. Take it out entirely and the texture turns hard and icy. Peanuts at 2% and cocoa solids at 0.5% make up the sundae part. It's the only Skinny Cow product in Peters' current range.
