Birdie's Brekkie Meal is built around Birdie the Early Bird, the mascot McDonald's introduced for breakfast in the 1980s, and Australia is the first market anywhere to get it. The meal pairs a choice of McMuffin or Brekkie McWrap with a hash brown and a Strawberry Shortcake Frappé. Two components are new. Birdie's Brekkie Signature Sauce is a pink tomato mayo that runs savoury and sweet at once, and it goes onto whichever of the McMuffin or the wrap gets chosen. The Strawberry Shortcake Frappé follows the dessert it's named after, with biscuit crumb swirled through the drink and scattered over the whipped cream. The pink carries across the whole tray, from the sauce to the frappé, which is the point of the tie-in rather than a coincidence of ingredients. It launched nationwide on 26 August 2026 through drive-thru, front counter, McDelivery and the MyMacca's app. It's a limited run, and the sauce and frappé haven't been sold separately from the meal.
