McDonald's Cheesy Quarter Pounder stacks a golden cheesy patty, effectively an oversized deep-fried cheese stick, on top of a quarter pound of 100% Aussie beef. Melted cheese, lettuce, creamy McChicken sauce and tomato chilli jam fill in the rest, on a sesame seed bun. That patty is what the range takes its name from, and it does something a slice can't. It holds its shape, brings its own crumb and keeps molten cheese inside a crisp shell, so the burger ends up carrying two different cheese textures at once. McChicken sauce on a beef burger is the other unusual call. It's creamy and mild, and the tomato chilli jam supplies the sweetness and the low heat that cut through both cheeses. The Cheesy range last ran in Australia in 2023 and came back on 19 August 2026, this time with a Cheesy Double Quarter Pounder, the Cheesy McCrispy and the return of Mozzarella Sticks with Tomato Chilli Jam.
