Coarser Angus beef, a toasted sourdough-style bun, lettuce, tomato, red onion, cheese and mayo make up this premium burger. The patty is thicker than McDonald's standard beef, and the bun has more chew than the usual soft roll. Compared with the rest of the McDonald's range in Australia, it leans less on ketchup and mustard and more on creamy mayo, with real tomato slices doing some of the work on moisture and acidity. Red onion brings a sharper bite, and the cheese sits under the patty rather than melting into it.
