Sesame seed bun, one quarter-pound beef patty, two slices of cheese, slivered onions, pickles, mustard and ketchup. No special sauce or lettuce here, so the structure stays fairly simple and the beef sits front and centre. Compared with the Big Mac in McDonald's Australian lineup, the patty is thicker and the build is stripped back. You get a heavier meat component and fewer extras getting in the way of the beef flavour. Onions are slivered rather than diced, and the pickles bring just enough acid to cut through the cheese and meat. It's one of those burgers where the patty actually matters, because there's not much else to hide behind.
