A chicken breast fillet coated in a sweet and tangy teriyaki sauce, with shredded lettuce and creamy mayonnaise in a soft bun. This came to Australia through the International Menu Heist, a May 2026 promotion that lifted popular items from McDonald's menus in Japan, Canada, the UK and the US and ran them locally for a limited time. The teriyaki burger is the Japanese entry, where it has been a menu staple for decades under the Teriyaki McBurger name. The sauce is the whole point. It is glossy, sweet and soy-based, and it turns a straightforward chicken burger into something the regular Australian menu has never offered.
