Wagyu Beef Burger

What is it?

Wagyu beef patty, brioche-style bun, crispy bacon, caramelised onion, tomato, lettuce, cheese and special sauce make up this premium burger. McDonald's Australia first ran it as a limited-time item in 2018, and it was the chain's first wagyu burger anywhere in the world. Compared with a standard McDonald's beef burger, the patty is thicker and richer, with a more pronounced beef flavour. The bun is softer and slightly sweet, closer to other premium burgers in the Macca's lineup than to the regular sesame seed bun. It's usually sold as a larger, higher-priced burger and has returned on and off in limited runs.
