KFC Swapped the Bun for Naan. Here's Every New UK Menu Item of the Summer.
The naan range came and went in five weeks. McDonald's put hot honey on everything, Burger King went Texan BBQ, and the Mini Hash Browns came back after two years. All ten items, with prices.

Here's the take, up front: the British fast food menu is mostly temporary now, and it turns over faster than anyone can form an opinion about it. That's not a complaint about novelty. It's a reason to say what you think while the thing is still on sale.
Ten new items landed in the UK catalogue over August. Here's all of it, what it costs, and how long you've got.
The KFC Naan Range Is Already Gone
KFC's Crispy Naan range ran from 20 July to 23 August. Five weeks, start to finish. Two burgers, the Tandoori Zinger and the Creamy Original, both from £7.49, both swapping the bun for naan bread, alongside Tandoori Loaded Fries and a dipping feast.
Swapping the bun is the most interesting thing a British chain did all summer. It's a real structural change to the product rather than a new sauce on an existing one, and it was aimed squarely at a kind of food people in this country actually eat. The Kwench matcha drinks that launched next to it were made permanent. The naans were not.
By the time you're reading this the range has been off the menu for two weeks. If it comes back next summer, and it probably will, the only question that matters is whether it earned the slot. That one's still open.
Everything Else That Turned Up
| Item | Brand | From | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Crispy Naan, two versions | KFC | 20 July to 23 August | from £7.49 |
| Hot Honey McCrispy | McDonald's | 14 July | £9.39 |
| Mozzarella Dippers with Hot Honey | McDonald's | 14 July | £3.09 |
| Texan BBQ King and Texan BBQ Royale | Burger King | 21 July | Royale meal £13.19 |
| Mini Hash Browns, 15-piece Sharebox | McDonald's | 25 August | |
| Cornetto McFlurry, chocolate and strawberry | McDonald's | Summer |
Prices as at September 2026, and they'll age badly, which is rather the point.
The pattern is hot honey. McDonald's put it on a McCrispy, put it on the mozzarella dippers, and sold it on its own as a 70p dip. The Korean BBQ and Ranch dips that arrived in the same drop were six-week items. Burger King went the other way and spent its summer on Texan BBQ, which is the safest flavour profile available to a burger chain and reads like a hedge next to a naan bread burger.
The Mini Hash Browns Came Back After Two Years
McDonald's discontinued Mini Hash Browns in 2024 and brought them back on 25 August as a 15-piece Sharebox, breakfast only, until 11am.
This is the exception that makes the argument. It's the one item on the list that exists purely because people wouldn't stop asking for it, and the asking took two years of shouting into replies and quote tweets until somebody at head office finally counted the volume.
Two years is a long time to make a point that a ranking makes in an afternoon. Chains do listen. They're just reading the worst possible instrument.
The Clock Is the Whole Point
Nearly everything on that list is a limited run. The naans have gone, the Korean BBQ and Ranch dips were six-week items, and the rest are on a timer only head office can see.
That's the argument for calling it now rather than later. A menu item that disappears takes the argument with it, and next summer the chains come back with a fresh set and the same question. The cards above are live and they write straight to the UK fast food ranking, which is decided by people who actually ate the thing rather than by whoever bought the most coverage in launch week.
The naans are the one I'd most like settled. Genuinely worth bringing back, or a clever summer experiment that did its job and should stay retired?
